Block and Cleaver are fully EEC approved (UK 2166 EC) which cover us for the import and export of all meat products in and out of the UK and we are also SALSA accredited (Safe and Local supplier approval).
SALSA, is a joint venture between four main trade associations representing the UK food chain:
- The British Retail Consortium (BRC)
- The British Hospitality Association (BHA)
- The Food and Drink Federation (FDF)
- The National Farmers Union (NFU)
The Institute of Food Science Technology (IFST) administer and operate the Salsa Scheme on behalf of the joint venture organisations.

HACCP – EU Regulations requires food business operators, including meat plant operators to implement and maintain hygiene procedures based on HACCP principles.This legislation replaces the meat regulations (HACCP) that were in place in 2002.
Block and Cleaver have a fully operational HACCP plan for all stages of the business, including a team of fully trained consultants who work alongside the company to ensure we are always in touch with any changes to the industry regulations.
Microbiological Testing – we subject all products to frequent testing as well as water testing to ensure that all products are being produced to the highest standards without compromise.
